FIELD TRIAL CHAMPION SAXAPHONE EXPRESS

Express, as his name suggests, is a dynamic dog renowned for his hunting ability and the enviable quality of tracking and retrieving injured game (taking a runner). Express won the first novice trial he was entered for and then quickly followed that with awards in open trials including two firsts which earned him the title of Field Trial Champion.
Peter ran with Express for England in the European Challenge team event at the Game Fair in 2001. The England team were victorious and Express was overall top dog having gained more points than any other.

The picture shows Express presenting a dummy to Peter under the watchful eye of the judge. The presentation is perfect and shows the standard to which every handler should aspire.

The following year Peter and Express represented England twice, competing at both the 'Skinner's International Gundog Event' at Sherbourne and the CLA Game Fair. The team were yet again the best and won both competitions. As well as competing at International level Peter has also represented local gundog clubs in various competitions including inter club competitions and the Kennel Club 100th year Celebration of the Labrador at Belvoir Castle in 2003. At Belvoir Castle Peter was the team captain and competed with Annette Clarke with FTCH Pointare Cromwell and Richard Hinks with FTCH Basswood Nike. The competition favoured those who knew their dog's strengths and the team lead by Peter were able to capitalise on this and were the only team to complete the two days of retrieves without any failures.
